Key findings
- Revolut had the lowest average cost, at 0.32% of the amount sent, and WorldRemit the highest, at 1.03%. On a 1,000 transfer that gap is worth about 7 in the sending currency.
- Cheapest standard quote by route: DKK → EUR: Revolut (0.23% on average); EUR → GBP: Revolut (0.65% on average); EUR → USD: Revolut (0.54% on average); GBP → EUR: Revolut (0.11% on average); USD → INR: Revolut (0.26% on average); USD → MXN: Revolut (0.14% on average).

How we measured
- All quotes were taken by hand from each provider's own website or app on 29 October 2026, paying by bank transfer and paying out to a bank account where we could choose.
- Total cost = the amount sent minus what the recipient gets, converted back at the ECB reference rate for that day. It includes the upfront fee and the exchange-rate markup.
- Quotes change by the minute and differ by country, payment method and account type. Treat the numbers as a snapshot, and check a live quote before you send.
- † marks a quote that included a new-customer promotion (a waived fee or a better first-transfer rate). We show it, but leave it out of the averages and the highlighted cheapest option, because most people do not get it twice.
- "Not offered" means we could not get a public quote for that route or amount: the provider does not serve it from that country, or only shows a price after you open an account.
- We measured from the sending country of each route (a VPN set to Germany, the UK, the US and Denmark), because some providers only serve customers in their own country. Wise and Revolut prices do not depend on where you sit, so their routes were all taken in one session.
- The ranking is by measured cost only. Nobody paid to be included. See how we make money.
